Anti-Austerity Alliance TD Paul Murphy has confirmed that he paid water charges while he was working as an MEP in Brussels, because the system was already “established” there.

He has been one of the leaders of the boycott of water charges since he was elected to the Dáil in the Dublin South West by-election last year.
