Many famous international fashion and furniture designers (as well as writers, musicians, film directors and actors), started their design life in architecture school.

The list is an eclectic mix across many fields and includes fashion designers Tom Ford, Pierre Cardin, Gianni Versace and Hubert de Givenchy; musicians Roger Waters, Chris Lowe, Art Garfunkel and Seal; former US president Thomas Jefferson; writer Thomas Hardy; and from Hollywood, actress Courtney Cox and director Michael Mann.
