Transport boards lacking in regional balance
118 of the 155 major board positions held by Dublin business people
Minister for Transport Shane Ross has promised to shake up the state boards in his department, after new figures revealed they are dominated by Dublin-based members.
He has responsibility for 16 semi-state companies and national agencies, including the likes of CIÉ, Bus Éireann, Tourism Ireland, and the Road Safety Authority.
But a new analysis has found that 118 of the 155 major board positions in these organisations were held by people with Dublin-based businesses.
