The boring budget: the numbers

The ‘boring budget’ may not have been quite as dramatic as previous years, as the government braces for a no-deal Brexit.

But there were still some dramatic deviations in spending from last year’s budget. Health saw the largest increase in Budget 2020, with an overall increase of €1.2 billion. This includes €22 million going into healthcare reform, a 94 per cent increase on last year’s spend in this area.
