Unions claim ministers are refusing to engage on the education crisis

The government faces a teachers’ strike during the general election campaign if it continues to refuse to engage on the education crisis, a key teachers’ union leader said.

“We will exhaust all other avenues first, but if there is no talking, industrial action will take place this side of the general election,” said Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI) president Gerry Quinn.
