REVEALED: Ireland’s acceptance of refugees is a third of EU average

We have the second highest rejection rate after Greece

It has emerged that Ireland had the second highest rejection rate of asylum seekers in the EU, after Greece, between 2008 and 2014.

Figures collated by The Sunday Business Post show the total number of people given refugee status in Ireland per 100,000 people of population was just a third of the average across 28 EU member states over the same period.
