The breakdown of the 15-year relationship between Senator Averil Power and Fianna Fáil ended in typical fashion.

There was a bitter row over who was to blame, hurtful insults traded on both sides and a physical separation, with her packing her boxes to move out of her office in the Fianna Fáil wing of Leinster House.
