The state is paying out millions of euro in tax credits every year to companies which pay no tax in the same year, Labour Party finance spokeswoman Joan Burton has said.

According to statistics released to Burton, the state paid almost €359 million to companies in refundable research and development (R&D) tax credits in 2015, the most recent year for which statistics are available.
