McGrath: rights watchdog ‘partisan’ on abortion

Independent TD Mattie McGrath has criticised the state’s human rights body as “extremely partisan” and unable to objectively analyse Ireland’s abortion law.

McGrath, a member of the Oireachtas committee examining the constitutional ban on abortion, has strongly criticised plans to hear evidence from the human rights commissioner Emily Logan and commission member Siobhán Mullally later this year.
