Mattie McGrath retracts claim that left-wing TDs spat on gardaí at water protests

Independent TD Mattie McGrath has told left wing TDs he never meant to accuse them of spitting at gardaí during anti-water protests.

It came after the Solidarity Party – previously known as the Anti-Austerity Alliance – complained that he had violated Dáil rules with his comments during a debate last November.
