Legal fee review recoups €2.1m for State Claims Agency

A total of €2.1 million was saved by the State Claims Agency last year by reviewing legal fees paid out to law firms representing patients who have experienced medical negligence.

The sum represents deals struck on the top ten legal bills which were succesfully negotiated downwards.

The ten biggest payments paid out by the state to plaintiff law firms reached €13.5 million in 2015.
