Fine Gael TDs have accused Taoiseach Enda Kenny of “deluding himself” and making “bizarre” statements about remaining on as Fine Gael leader for another two years.

Kenny’s recent attempts to copper-fasten his leadership have been met with deep unease in the party. Fine Gael TD John Paul Phelan said it was not credible for Kenny to suggest he could remain for another two years.
