IDA chief executive Martin Shanahan wrote to the Minister for Jobs, Mary Mitchell O’Connor, to outline the role and functions of the IDA following a meeting between the pair.

Shanahan emailed Mitchell O’Connor on January 9 to explain the state agency’s statutory responsibilities and functions.

The email, obtained under Freedom of Information, states: “Minister, as discussed. IDA Ireland is the government agency with statutory responsibility to attract foreign direct investment.”...
