Minister for Arts and Rural Affairs Heather Humphreys is to ask her government colleagues to “rural-proof” their policy decisions in an effort to boost economic development in the regions.

Humphreys wants ministers to come up with clear plans to positively discriminate towards rural Ireland, including imploring businesses to locate their operations outside urban centres.
