Government wants public sector pay deal by budget
New pay agreement with civil servants is set to replace Lansdowne Road agreement
The government is targeting a new public sector pay deal which will cover a period up to the end of the Brexit negotiations in 2019.
The new pay deal will replace the current Lansdowne Road agreement, which was meant to last until September 2018.
It is hoping that the deal to bring forward a €1,000 pay rise for public sector workers will guarantee industrial peace until talks begin on a new agreement in April.
