Former Rose of Tralee set to stand for FG in next European elections

Fine Gael is set to run the former Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh in next year’s European Parliament elections.

Walsh has expressed an interest in running in the Midlands North West constituency and has been in talks with the Fine Gael hierarchy about joining the ticket, The Sunday Business Post can reveal.

She would run alongside incumbent MEP Mairéad McGuinness in the vast four-seat constituency that currently covers 15 counties from three provinces....
