A former adviser to Bertie Ahern lobbied Kilkenny councillors unsuccessfully over a housing development at the luxury Mount Juliet Hotel and Golf resort.

Paddy Duffy, a former press secretary to the former taoiseach, met with a number of Fianna Fáil councillors to lobby on behalf of Tetrarch Capital, the owners of the resort.

The Irish company bought up the resort, which is set amongst 1,500 acres of Kilkenny countryside, in 2014.
