Micheal Martin has launched a bid to triumph over Fine Gael in the vote for Taoiseach next week.

Senior Fianna Fáil sources have told the Irish Times that Martin wants to build broad support to return to government and is trying to get the backing of smaller parties and as many Independent TDs as possible.
