FG TDs back Labour bill to cut bankruptcy period to a year

Fine Gael TDs are rowing in behind a Labour bill to shorten the bankruptcy period from three years to one.

The bill by Labour TD Willie Penrose is designed to strengthen the hand of homeowners seeking debt deals from their banks, and has already received the backing of Tánaiste Joan Burton and the rest of the Labour party.
