FG set to woo Independents after striking deal with FF

Party needs to win over at least six more TDs to scrape majority

Fine Gael is preparing to re-engage with the Independents to secure their support after reaching a deal on water charges with Fianna Fáil.

The party still has to conclude negotiations with Fianna Fáil after broad agreement was reached to suspend water charges for nine months, set up a commission to examine the issue and then pass it to a Dáil committee ahead of a final Dáil vote.
