There were sharp exchanges between Leo Varadkar and Micheál Martin in the Dáil on Tuesday afternoon amid an ongoing row over the high-profile publicity campaign behind Project Ireland 2040.

Fianna Fáil has asked the state’s ethics watchdog, Sipo, to investigate whether the promotional campaign for the €116 billion 20-year national development plan had broken rules around the civil service and political campaigning.
