Tánaiste and Labour leader Joan Burton will propose a formal vote transfer pact with Fine Gael to the Labour parliamentary party when it meets in advance of the new Dáil term next week.

The agreement, which is likely to be ratified by both parties in the coming weeks, would see Labour and Fine Gael ask their supporters to give their lower preferences to the other party
