Euro chief Dombrovskis pours cold water on ‘debt conference’ proposal

The EU Commissioner for the euro has put paid to the idea of a ‘debt conference’ designed to address the debt issues of problematic eurozone states, despite support for one from the Irish government. The notion is being flagged by Greek MP Alexis Tsipras – the leader of left-wing opposition party, Syriza, ahead of the election there on January 25.
