Eirgrid: cyber hacks pose threat to network

State firm tells staff that chief targets for hackers are US-owned data centres and key infrastructure

Eirgrid has warned that US companies based here are a prime target for hackers.

The state company, which operates the national electricity grid, has been ramping up its own cyber security to ensure that hackers cannot cause any electricity blackouts.
