There has been an underwhelming reaction to his Rebuilding Ireland Home Loan. It is for people on incomes of less than €50,000 as a single applicant, or €75,000 for joint applicants, as long as they have already been turned down twice for a mortgage by the banks.

They can get a mortgage of up to €320,000 in the Greater Dublin Area, Cork and Galway, while in the rest of the country it is €250,000.
