Cabinet to discuss same-sex marriage vote

The cabinet is due to discuss next year’s referendum on same-sex marriage this week and may determine that the vote should take place in the first quarter of 2015.

Government sources said that there would be a push to get the referendum “done” early in the new year, but some sources warned that it may not take place until April or May.
