The legislation to replace the “right-to-life” clause in the constitution is to be drafted by an all-party committee rather than the government.
The government is to sign off this week on the establishment of a citizens’ assembly on the Eighth Amendment, which was voted in back in 1983 to give equal status to the life of a mother and her unborn child.
