Wexford in running for four opera awards

The 2016 winners will be announced in mid-May

Wexford Festival Opera has been recognised for its Guglielmo Ratcliff

Wexford Festival Opera has been nominated in the Best Festival category for the prestigious International Opera Awards. Among its competitors are the famous opera festivals of Aix-en Provence, Glyndebourne and Santa Fe.

It has also been named for Best Rediscovered Work for its production of Mascagni’s Guglielmo Ratcliff, a high-powered Scottish drama that was considered the major success of the 2015 festival.

Italian director Fabio Ceresa was nominated in the Best Young Director category....
