Bridgerton (Netflix), the latest big hit from the streaming service, is a Regency romp based on American author Julia Quinn’s string of historical romance novels. It goes in for fashionably colour-blind (or colour-conscious) casting. Which would be all very well if the casting adequately reflected any of the shades of Regency life.
