The Audi Dublin International Film Festival has come a long way since its beginnings as a small, local event in the 1980s. Highlights of this year’s bumper programme (February 16-26) include In Loco Parentis, an observational documentary on Headfort, Ireland’s only primary-age boarding school; I Am Not Your Negro, the powerful, Oscar-nominated film based on an unfinished book by James Baldwin; and Girl Asleep (pictured), a gorgeously cinematic coming-of-age drama.
