When Ron Finley planted a carrot outside his home in Los Angeles, it triggered a chain of events that resulted in a warrant being put out for his arrest. Due in Dublin next month to speak at the Bloom Fringe Festival, Finley – or “the gangsta gardener”, as he is known – is about as far removed from most people’s perceptions of a horticulturalist as it is possible to get.
