Bentley’s Flying Spur takes its name from Scottish heraldry, courtesy of the man in charge of the company’s coach-building division Mulliner at the time. The name first appeared on the Bentley Continental in the 1950s and continued into the 1960s. It did not surface again until 2005, when the first modern Continental Flying Spur was launched under Volkswagen’s ownership.
