Hennessy announced the winners of the 2016 Hennessy Literary Awards at a ceremony in the RHA Gallery in Dublin last week. Now in its 45th year, the competition continues to recognise emerging Irish writers and poets.

Winners on the night were Ríona Judge McCormack (First Fiction), Chris Connolly (Emerging Fiction) and Jane Clarke (Emerging Poetry), with Ríona Judge McCormack winning the overall award of the Hennessy New Irish Writer for 2016.
