This midday session at the Hugh Lane resonated with echoes and wailings of the Middle East, yet never lost touch with the cool feel of modern western jazz. Comprising pianist Francesco Turrisi, cellist Kate Ellis and saxophonist Nick Roth, the Taquin Trio explored a wide range of moods across a soundscape where minarets felt ever-present.
