PREVIEW Irish composers pay tribute to Clara Schumann
Coincidentally, the Irish Baroque Orchestra concert is also a major part of the Finding A Voice festival (March 8-10) in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, with a strong focus on the music and achievements of Clara Schumann, the long-suffering spouse of Robert and lifelong muse to his friend Johannes Brahms.
In an entire agenda dedicated to women composers, Barbara Strozzi’s role as a pioneer of baroque composition (see above) is also celebrated.
