John B Keane’s iconic play The Field was first staged in 1965; Ray McAnally took the lead role and Keane’s late brother Eamon played ‘The Bird’ O’Donnell. Fifty years on, and its popularity has not waned. (This anniversary production of the play has been in such demand that the run has been extended by two weeks, until May 30.)
