New opera on life and legacy of Steve Jobs
Maybe it was inevitable, but even so, a new opera about a techie genius is bound to raise a few eyebrows. The (R) evolution of Steve Jobs has been commissioned by Santa Fe Opera, one of the US’s most innovative and active companies.
The opera about the Apple chief, who died of cancer in 2011, will, according to a statement, be “as innovative as the man himself”.
“It will examine the life of one of the most fascinating figures of our time: an innovator who simplified communication with sleek devices, but who paradoxically learned that complex human relationships require more than one button to work,” said general director Charles MacKay.
