The irony of the situation at the opening of the newly refurbished Kevin Barry Recital Room in the National Concert Hall did not escape notice. This long, three-section adaptable apartment was named after the teenage patriot, a student of UCD at the time of his execution. It was also the venue for the rancorous Treaty debates of the 1920s, something that must have entered Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s mind when he attended the opening celebration....
