I grew up in Henley-on-Thames, and first studied embroidery at Manchester Arts School. There, my tutor commented on how sculptural my work tended to be, and suggested that I try my hand at millinery. So I specialised at Kensington and Chelsea College and by the time I was 21, I had launched my first millinery business.
