After its unsurpassed run of early films, digital animation studio Pixar started to dip in the last number of years with some below-par, cash-grabbing sequels and a couple of dud originals, including Brave and The Good Dinosaur. The perceived drop in quality coincided with the studio being absorbed into the Disney conglomerate, with the perception being that the pressure from their new owners to keep the hits coming deepened an inevitable creative trough.
