Anne Haverty is primarily known as a novelist, having published three deeply contrasting novels, which display an admirable chameleon quality that can combine lyricism with the sharpest wit.

These stretch back to her 1997 debut, One Day As A Tiger, which merged McGahernesque rural realism with the surreal story of a bachelor farmer’s relationship with a cloned sheep.
