New buildings in Dun Laoghaire – well, one of them anyway – have proved rather controversial of late. But I can’t imagine anyone who was offended by the new library on the seafront having any issues with another new property in the town: the revamped pavilion in the People’s Park.

Built at the end of the 19th century, it has been revamped and extended, and is now home to a branch...
