When I get the time I’m planning to write a novel on Samuel Beckett. In the spirit of that puzzling man it will be short. The opening two words will be “I will . . .’’ and there will be nothing else until an extra large full-stop at the end of the page. This will indicate the shuddering impact of the lack of dialogue.
