Dull rendering ruins Shining sequel

For a film about the invasive influence of the past on the present, there’s too much of the old on display in Doctor Sleep: sets built from Kubrick’s original designs, recycled music cues and props, characters and entire scenes painstakingly reconstructed. It’s not so much a homage as an admission of defeat
