Last week, as part of its 150th birthday celebrations, Dublin Chess Club invited former World Championship Challenger Nigel Short to deliver a lecture, before he proceeded to Bunratty to defend his title in Ireland’s strongest weekend tournament. Short remains an active and successful player on the international scene, and today’s game is taken from a recent match against Women’s World Champion Hou Yifan.
