Chess with Sam Collins

19th August, 2018

British Championship, 2018

After a few years of stagnation, chess in England is looking very healthy these days. David Howell and Gawain Jones are well-established additions to the world’s top 100 players (joining English regulars Adams, Sadler, McShane and Short), and several talents have either become GMs (like Daniel Fernandez) or are on the cusp of the title, such as James Adair. I was very impressed by this game from the 2018 British Championship.
