The eighth World Champion, Mikhail Tal, is one of the most beloved figures in chess history, famous for his sensational attacking chess. Now in its tenth edition, an elite tournament in his honour, the Tal Memorial, took place in Moscow. Many exciting attacking games were played there, including by the top GM from Azerbaijan, Shak Mamedyarov, against the 2012 World Championship challenger from Israel, Boris Gelfand.
