Defending champions Bischwiller retained their French Club Championship title. Their top player, Israeli GM Maxim Rodshtein, was especially impressive, scoring 8/11 against strong opposition including Egypt’s Bassem Amin, one of my favourite players and the first African GM to achieve a 2700 rating.
