BMW also let us drive its new i3 with a 94 ampere hour (Ah), or 29kWh net, Li-ion battery in place of the old 60Ah/19kWh module. This allows the fully electric i3 to go 50 per cent further on one charge than previously.
BMW claims a real-world 200km (using battery-draining on-board equipment) and a theoretical 300km maximum. Other than that, it’s completely unchanged; but making it go further – and we’ve no reason to doubt it...
