Aston’s ‘super light’ is a true heavyweight

The new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera may have a name from the past, but it’s bang up to date in every other regard under the sun

To Irish ears, the Italian language is a melodic one, making everyday objects and words sound far more interesting and romantic. In the context of car design, for example, the phrase ‘super light’ is fairly self-explanatory, if an unimaginative name for a car. But translate that into the Italian superleggera and it’s immediately daubed with a little Mediterranean sunshine and cool, even if the car in question is manufactured in the Midlands in Britain....
